100 - 216 cars qualify for this one. Young
Jimmy Owens quick time. 3 non-q races, 6 heats,
2 last chance races and all 100 laps of the
WORLD. Bloomquist crashes in hot laps and
doesn't race. Plenty of good racing and a few
crashes. Jackie Boggs leads another one only to
have mechanical problems. Dale McDowell leads
until passed by a hard charging Shannon Babb.
Babb crosses the finish line first, but is 10
pounds light at the scale. McDowell accepts win
humbly. |

34th WORLD
100 - 215 cars qualify for this years event.
3 non-qualifiers, 6 heats, last chance race and
all 100 laps. Some of the wildest racing at
Eldora in the last few years. Bloomer quick time
but doesn't transfer thru heat. Many big names
not in show. Moyer leads early from outside
pole. Lanigan takes lead on lap 22 after forcing
Billy high in turn 4. Lap 33 with Lanigan
leading, Boggs runs into Lanigan and takes both
out. Moyer back to lead until Jimmy Owens passes
him on lap 47. Moyer crashes on lap 52. Owens
blows right rear whle leading on lap 62. Chub
frank takes lead from Don O'Neal on restart and
goes on to his 1st win at Eldora. |

33rd WORLD
100 - 222 cars qualify for this one. 3 Non-Q
races, 6 heats, B-Main and all 100 laps of the
WORLD. Heat races always the best. Wisconsin
Wildman Dan Schlieper wins his biggest race
ever. Bloomquist comes from 7th to 2nd but can't
pass Schliep Dog. Defending champ Birky comes
from 13th to take 4th. Dan has a big BOO-YEAH
for the large and appreciative crowd. |

32nd WORLD
100 - 6 heats, last chance race and 100 laps
of great racing. Last lap charges by drivers in
heats put them in big show. Moyer and Moran miss
the big race. Dennis Erb leads first lap, gets
passed by Bob Pierce. Babb and Bloomquist work
on Pierce and get by. Birkhofer starts moving up
from 15th. 3 way battle with Bloomquist taking
lead on lap 47. Scott runs away but Birky
catches him in traffic. Late yellow gives Scott
open track only to have Birky runs him down and
passes Scott in turn 4 on lap 100 to win by only
a foot. Great emotion in victory lane. Crowd
shows appreciation for great race. |

31st WORLD
100 - 224 cars show up for the biggest late
model race in the nation. 3 non-qualifier races,
6 furious heat races, the last chance race and
all 100 laps of the main event. Big crashes and
a couple of flips in the heat races. Gentleman
Jim Curry leads early as Bloomquist and Moran
make their charges from the 5th and 6th row.
Terry Phillips stays in striking range of Curry
till Bloomer blows by him around the 20 lap
mark. Scott gets by Curry on lap 26. Scott is
jubilant in victory lane not being there since
1990. |

laps. One of the best 100 laps ever at Eldora.
Davey runs hard up front and rejects challenges
until Billy comes by on lap 68. 3 and 4 wide
racing throughout. One of best race coverages I

laps. Earls new dirt makes for great racing.
Moran crashes hard in heat. Rhoades flips in
same heat. O'Neal leads main then breaks. Pierce
takes over with Frye on his tail. Francis works
from 7th to lead on lap 54. Moyer comes from
24th to 5th. Francis gets first big win at the
